The sin ‘Sloth’ can be described as the neglect to take care of one’s duties and apathy leading to the refusal to help others in times of need.
This piece was created by the combination of images relating to a particular habit of taboo that our modern government and society is trying to abolish for reasons of health and social well being... smoking. In a culture that is all too ready to concede to sign on and receive handouts I find the stigma of smoking fits in well with his concept of neglecting ones duties. We all have a duty to stay healthy and allow the good health of others to remain, yet western culture still favours a habit that we know to be detrimental to ourselves and others around us.
